The man who made Camacho famous went mild. What he built instead is one of the most complex Connecticut cigars on the market.

Christian Luis Eiroa spent years building Camacho into one of the most respected full-body Honduran powerhouses in the premium cigar world. When Davidoff acquired Camacho, Eiroa eventually stepped away and launched CLE in 2012, named after his own initials. The first two releases, the CLE Corojo and CLE Cuarenta, were Honduran puros that confirmed he had lost nothing of his full-body blending instinct. The CLE Connecticut came next, and it surprised everyone. Cigar Coop called it one of the best Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper releases of the year.

Made at Eiroa's own Aladino Factory in Danlí, Honduras, surrounded by the same Jamastran Valley tobaccos that produce his boldest blends, the CLE Connecticut proves that the same factory and the same hands can build something completely different when the wrapper changes. Among the premium cigars in Eiroa's portfolio, the Connecticut is the one most often put into the hands of someone who just said they don't enjoy full-bodied cigars. This box of 25 in the 6 x 60 Sixty format is the most generous and slowest-burning vitola in the line.

The blend includes:

  1. Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, light tan with a silky texture and a naturally sweet, toasty pre-light aroma
  2. Honduran binder, grown in the Jamastran Valley, for structure and mild body contribution
  3. Honduran long-filler, aged, sourced from Eiroa's own farms around the Aladino Factory

From the first draw, you will notice:

  1. A nutty opening, sweet and slightly tangy, almost floral in the first few puffs
  2. Cream and cedar settling in alongside citrus through the first third
  3. Butter, mineral, and spice notes developing as the wide ring gauge opens the draw
  4. Orange peel and subtle pepper on the retrohale throughout
  5. A long, crisp, clean finish that Famous Smoke describes as "heck of a creamy smoke"

The draw on the 6 x 60 is open and effortless. The burn is even throughout, consistent with the construction quality of the Aladino Factory. Smoke output at this ring gauge is generous and the temperature stays cool across the full session. Reviewers describe the Sixty as "absolutely flawless, no bite or bitterness anywhere to be found, but LOADED with flavor, very delicious and interesting from first light until the nub.

Why this Connecticut outperforms the competition:

  1. Honduran long-filler grown in the Jamastran Valley gives the CLE Connecticut more body and depth than Dominican or Nicaraguan-filler Connecticut alternatives
  2. Aladino Factory production standards mean construction quality consistent with Eiroa's most expensive lines
  3. 91-point rating from Cigars International, which described the profile as genuinely complex rather than simply mild
  4. Cigar Coop directly states the CLE Connecticut "takes things to another level" compared to the Camacho Connecticut, which is widely considered one of the benchmark Honduran Connecticut cigars

Compared to other CLE Connecticut vitolas:

  1. Sixty (6 x 60): this listing, widest ring, slowest burn, 75 to 90 minutes, most expansive flavor development
  2. 11/18 (6 x 54): the signature Eiroa figurado vitola, similar session length in a tapered format
  3. Robusto (5 x 50): most popular format, 45 to 60 minutes, same blend in a compact daily smoke
  4. Corona (5.75 x 46): thinnest ring in the line, more concentrated draw, 40 to 50 minutes

This product is best suited for:

  1. Connecticut fans who want genuine complexity rather than just mildness from a shade-grown wrapper
  2. Experienced smokers looking for a reliable 75 to 90 minute daily cigar from a factory built by one of Honduras's most celebrated blenders
  3. Anyone who has been told the CLE line is "too bold" and wants to discover what Eiroa can do in the opposite direction
