What Are Swisher Sweets? Cigarillos, Little Cigars and Cigars Explained

Swisher Sweets are machine-made cigars from Swisher, sold as cigarillos, little cigars and larger cigar shapes. People often ask whether they are cigars or cigarillos. The answer is both, depending on the style:

1. Cigarillos are short, slim cigars sold in pouches of 2, 3, 5 or 6. They are the heart of the line and come in dozens of flavors.
2. Little cigars are cigarette-length (100mm), sold in packs of 20 or 40, with Regular, Menthol, Mellow, Cherry, Peach and Full Blend options.
3. Classic cigar shapes such as Kings, Giants, Perfecto and Coronella are larger formats sold in packs of 5.
4. Leaf, BLK and Legend are distinct styles with their own flavors, covered below.

If you are new to the brand, start with a classic cigarillo in Grape, Sweet or Diamond. They are the easiest introduction to the Swisher Sweets taste.

About Swisher Sweets and Swisher

Swisher traces its roots to 1861, when David Swisher acquired a small cigar business in Newark, Ohio. The Swisher Sweets line followed in 1958 and grew into one of the best-known mass-market cigar brands in the United States. The company, now called Swisher, is based in Jacksonville, Florida.

The brand is built on a simple idea: a mild, machine-made cigar with an easy draw, a consistent burn and flavor that stays the same from the first pack to the last. That consistency and a low price per cigar are why Swisher Sweets became a staple of corner stores and online tobacco shops alike.

Swisher Sweets is organized into several series: Classics, Encore Edition, Limited Edition, Minis and BLK, alongside Leaf and the larger cigar shapes. "Swisher" and "Swishers" are common shorthand for the brand, and they usually mean one of the styles above, which is why this page breaks them out.
