At 7 x 70, this is where Christian Eiroa and Tom Lazuka's most intense tier of the three-part 867 series meets Asylum's signature oversized ring gauge, and the result is a genuinely long, slow-developing session.

The origin story behind this cigar matters. In 2022, Eiroa and Lazuka developed three flavored blends for Deadwood Tobacco Co. in South Dakota called "Chasing the Dragon." A trademark dispute over the Deadwood name led to a national rebrand in December 2023, relaunching the collection as Asylum 867, working directly with Deadwood's own team to refine the final blends. Of the three resulting lines, Auntie, Zero, and Midnight Oil, Midnight Oil sits at the top of the intensity scale and carries Asylum's signature big-ring format, 54, 60, and now this 7x70.

The process behind the flavor is steeping, submerging the rolled cigars in flavored liquid or holding them in a closed environment to absorb concentrated aroma before curing, a more involved method than a simple sweetened cap alone, though Midnight Oil carries that too.
