Description
The longest and narrowest format in the entire Auntie tier. At 7x38, this is a genuine Lancero proportion, thin and elegant, and it changes the pacing of Asylum's mellowest 867 blend considerably compared to the shorter, wider 5x44 and 5x46 sizes in the same lineup.
The blend itself doesn't change: a Honduran puro underneath a dark maduro wrapper, finished with a sweetened cap over a steeping process where the rolled cigars absorb concentrated flavored aroma before curing, the same construction Christian Eiroa built across all three Auntie sizes. What changes at 7x38 is how much time the maple syrup and baking spice sweetness has to develop before the smoke ends. At this narrow ring gauge, the wrapper leads clearly and consistently through the entire session, and the extra length compared to the 5-inch sizes gives the floral, herbal, apple, and brandy undertones more room to settle in and shift gradually rather than arriving all at once.
Lancero-format cigars have a long history of being associated with a more refined, deliberate smoking pace, and this Auntie fits that tradition well. The cream and cedar that develop through the middle of the shorter sizes have a longer runway here, and the pipe tobacco and spice character that closes out the tier's flavor arc arrives more gradually, giving the whole session a slower, more contemplative feel than the compact 5-inch formats. Medium body throughout, this remains the mellowest cigar in the entire 867 family, just stretched into the format that traditionally rewards patience over speed.

Flavor progression:
- Opening: an immediate sweetness from the cap, maple syrup and baking spice notes leading clearly at this narrow ring gauge, floral and herbal undertones settling in gradually
- Mid-smoke: cream and cedar develop over a longer arc than the shorter Auntie sizes allow, hints of apple and brandy threading through steadily
- Close: pipe tobacco and spice settle in slowly, the sweetness receding at a more deliberate pace as the medium body carries through to the final draws
