Description
The widest format in the revived Post Embargo line, giving Blend Code B15's unusual dual binder construction the most room it gets across any vitola in the lineup. At 6 x 60, the Gordo shifts more of the smoke's character toward the filler, extending the session considerably compared to the Robusto or Toro.
The construction here stays consistent with the rest of the line: a Honduran Criollo wrapper grown in the Trojes region, layered over two separate binder leaves, one Jamastran Corojo and one Trojes Criollo, both Honduran, and a filler blend combining Nicaraguan Jalapa tobacco with Honduran leaf from Jamastran and Trojes. Made at Raíces Cubanas, this is the same revived Blend Code B15 that Alec Bradley brought back in 2023 under Scandinavian Tobacco Group, built to founder Alan Rubin's original vision for the line rather than as a simple continuation of the discontinued 2015 Post Embargo.
At 60 ring gauge, the filler's proportional contribution per draw increases considerably compared to the narrower Robusto and Toro sizes, which several smokers have found brings the cocoa, coffee, and earth notes forward more consistently across a longer arc. This wider format also tends to burn cooler and slower, giving the blend's dual binder character more time to fully integrate rather than shifting quickly between phases. As with every size in this line, individual stick variation remains part of the experience, some smokers describe a rich, layered profile throughout, while others find a more subdued, earth-forward character depending on the specific cigar. Given the line's noted aging potential of 7 to 10 years, the Gordo is a reasonable size to set aside a few of and revisit down the road, when the pepper has mellowed and the leather and cocoa notes have had time to settle into a more cohesive whole.

Flavor progression:
- Opening: barnyard earth, cocoa powder, and sweet cedar on the aroma, with mocha and light pepper on the cold draw settling in more gradually at this wider ring gauge
- Mid-smoke: dry cocoa, nuttiness, and coffee build steadily, with white pepper and earth notes given more room to develop across the longer session
- Close: a structured, cooler finish with cedar and mineral notes, sweetness and spice integrating further with humidor rest
